In 2004 we were invited to go out to Augsburg in Germany to perform at the lab30 arts festival by a friend of ours. At the time we wanted to take out some merchandise to sell but were all out of records and cds. So we decided to re-boot our Metal-on-Metal cd-r label with this 3″ cd, mixed by me, of mostly at that point unreleased material, mainly with an ambient/beatless slant.
I think it holds up well. The Marcia and Village Orchestra tracks made it onto albums, but the rest of the material has stayed pretty exclusive to this wee disk. the Daigoro collab (now trading as Erstlaub) has disappeared from existence and even Dave doesn’t remember putting it together. The Rose and Sandy material was part of a larger collage that will be becoming
n available for download soon. And the Caether track…well it has a strange history. It’s perennially threatened with reappearing under the auspices of one of the other collaborators.
We used to sell this cd-r through the site, and now I’m giving it away for free. If you’re pissed off that you paid for it, mail me and I’ll send you something else to make up for it.
